news: Supporting with Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement
Wednesday 16th September 2020
The Emergency Active Travel Fund (EATF) from central government has been used widely across London and the UK to implement active travel measures under Experimental Traffic Orders (ETOs), which remove the need for consultation in advance of implementation. Now, as the end of the experimental period approaches, some local authorities are finding themselves with insufficient capacity to effectively carry out consultation on the schemes that have been implemented during the pandemic.
Many of the interventions introduced have been bold and some have been controversial. This requires a sensitive and innovative approach to consultation to ensure communities understand the interventions, building support, and where concerns are heard, ensuring these help inform delivery of any permanent interventions.
ITP is available to provide support with a range of aspects of consultation and stakeholder engagement, including:
- Stakeholder mapping & engagement
- Engagement strategies
- Outreach and engagement
- Workshop organisation and facilitation
- Web portal consultation
- Quantitative, qualitative and geographic analyses
- Stakeholder group management
