Tuesday 14th May 2019
Last summer ITP’s Birmingham office were selected to take part in the West Midlands Combined Authority’s ‘Thrive at Work’ initiative, with the goal of promoting employee health and wellbeing in SME’s by focusing on different aspects of the company that can have an impact on employee mental and physical wellbeing.
By promoting health and safety practices, evaluating management styles and encouraging staff to improve their own lifestyle, it is hoped the workplace will benefit from happier staff and the associated performance benefits.
ITP's Managing Director Jon Parker commented:
"This is a great initiative and we support it wholeheartedly as it aligns perfectly with ITP’s philosophy of ‘supporting our staff to be the very best’. Listening to what matters to our staff, learning from best practice, and then putting in place measures to create a healthier and happier workplace, sits at the heart of ITP."
Since launching the initiative, employees in our Birmingham office have completed a ‘personal lifestyle’ and ‘management practices’ survey to understand current health and wellbeing practices and identify where improvements could be made. The data from these surveys has been presented to staff in the monthly meetings and has enabled them to have an input into where changes can be made.
By having conversations regarding management and business practices, with a focus on mental and physical health, it is hoped the team can be at the helm of a positive change in practices which will be rolled out across the wider company.
