news: ITP and Derby City Council receive 'Best Sustainable Transport Paper' award at the TPM
Thursday 6th July 2017
This time last week ITP’s Rachel Tate and Derby City Council’s Adam Sendall took to the stage at the Transport Practitioners Meeting in Nottingham to receive an award from PTRC for ‘Best Paper at TPM Demonstrating Sustainable Transport Solutions’.
The paper provided an insight into how Rachel and Adam used the key principles of behaviour change theory, alongside relationship marketing techniques, to build a thriving network of 250 businesses that were promoting sustainable travel to their staff in Derby as part of the ‘Connected’ project.
Daniel Parker-Klein, Director of PTRC, said ‘the paper demonstrated that with sound planning and an innovative approach to local engagement, the many challenges facing the delivery of a more sustainable approach to travel can be overcome. An excellent paper exploring a valuable project.'
The award builds on similar accolades for the Connected project, which recently received the CIHT’s ‘Sustainable Transport Award’ and the CIHT’s ‘Overall Award' for all transport projects in 2017.
